On May 1st I passed the Extra Class exam. Testing was held at Noble Hospital in Westfield, Mass. I am very thankful to my family for putting up with me trying to study over the last month. I have also requested a new call sign from the FCC. I hope to soon have my new call sign and license !

If you are looking for a new Hobby or just want to help your city or town in an Emergency consider becoming a Amateur "Ham" Radio Operator ! Since I have become one my life has changed so much. I have met many new friends and found a club that really cares about it's members. I am talking about the Hampden County Radio Association "HCRA" The first Friday of every month we meet in Feeding Hills. To visit the club web site please click the link below.

ARRL Field Day 2006 - I participated this year at the Southwick / Tolland High School. I was honored to be part of this field day ! I worked with the Southwick Emergency Management and the Granville Emergency Management. We had fun while we worked stations from Canada and the Mid West and down South. It was a GREAT learning experience !!!!!

On 3-24-06 I passed my Technicians Test for Amateur Radio !!!

I want to thank John Stark ( N1JIO ) who ( Elmered ) me into HAM Radio. Without John's help in training me at his home on his own time , I may not have felt ready to take this test so soon. I am now waiting to find out what my Call Sign will be.

As I have been learning more about FEMA and MEMA, I have taken the NIMS IS 700 FEMA requirement test. And the ICS 100 & ICS 200, plus I finished the IS-800 NRP. This was an eye opener for me as to the much needed use for Ham Radio's in local and national emergencies. Please consider getting a Ham Radio to help in an emergency in your town of city !

To update my training I have completed ICS 300 and ICS 400. I have also completed the Psychological First Aid I and II. And the NIPP and HSEEP. I will add more classes I have completed in the near future.
